Cisco, the global leader in networking and security, and ServiceNow, an AI platform for business transformation, today announced a deeper partnership to ensure that large businesses can confidently secure AI adoption.

The combination of Cisco’s infrastructure and security platform and ServiceNow’s AI-driven platform and security solutions unlock mutual customers’ ability to protect and expand AI use while reducing risk and complexity. This initial integration will link Cisco’s AI defense capabilities with ServiceNow Secops, providing more overall AI risk management and governance.

Product Strategy AI

The rapid spread of enterprise AI presents unprecedented opportunities, but also poses entirely new risks and challenges that traditional cybersecurity and infrastructure solutions do not address. As AI applications begin to quickly rebuild their organization’s business practices, the underlying infrastructure, security frameworks, team workflows, and governance requirements need to be changed just as quickly. Strict management and monitoring of AI across your organization will provide strict data governance, confidentiality, reliability and trust. Together, Cisco and ServiceNow will not only solve the challenges presented by AI, but also provide a platform-based approach to enable businesses to move more confidently and faster.

Cisco & ServiceNow: Provides end-to-end AI security

To demonstrate the power of a more integrated solution, Cisco and ServiceNow are working on a new set of risks that businesses are fighting for as they adopt and expand AI. Security, AI and governance teams can have a hard time staying connected and are traditionally unaware of AI applications and security attitudes. To solve this, customers need an integrated platform that spans the entire infrastructure and workflow. Customers rely on ServiceNow to streamline IT service management and enhance operational workflows through automation and integrated solutions to control risk and governance. Today, AI defense allows teams to leverage these same capabilities to build programs around AI assets to ensure governance and mitigate risk.

The organization-wide AI adoption outlook includes internal applications, commercial SAAS platforms, and unauthorized AI implemented by employees. Cisco and ServiceNow provide customers with a consistent, cohesive set of solutions to protect AI applications and maintain AI governance across these deployment types. The combination of Cisco AI Defense and ServiceNow Secops is designed to provide customers.

Visibility: Cisco AI Defense discovers AI workloads, models, and data that map to applications and services on the ServiceNow platform.

Vulnerability Management: Cisco AI defenses perform automated vulnerability assessments, and findings surface in ServiceNow Vulnerability Responses (VR), where they are monitored, triaged, and addressed.

Real-time Protection: Cisco AI Runtime Protection provides real-time guardrails for AI applications. ServiceNow Security Attitude Control allows you to identify coverage gaps from Cisco AI Runtime Protection in AI applications, making this data available for prioritization of AI vulnerabilities.

Incident Response: Telemetry from AI applications is delivered from Cisco AI Defense to ServiceNow Security Incident Response (SIR) to enhance security operations center investigations and promote proactive threat response.

Governance: Allows clients to enable teams to measure and demonstrate AI organizational compliance so that they can map Cisco AI defense controls to relevant criteria in ServiceNow’s Integrated Risk Management (IRM) platform.

The first field trial will soon begin and we can expect mutual customers of Cisco and ServiceNow to take advantage of this integration in the second half of 2025. Additional integration of Cisco and ServiceNow features is planned for the second half of 2025.

Cisco and ServiceNow: Strategic Partnership for the Future of AI

Today’s deepened partnerships are based on the company’s seven years of established collaboration. However, customer demand for joint solutions is more than ever before. As technology becomes more complex and AI creates opportunities to rethink how work is done, customers rely on trusted partners. Cisco and ServiceNow are committed to providing customers with a powerful and simplified solution.

Scott Crawford, Director of Research, Information Security, S&P Global Market Intelligence 451 Research

Customers are looking for simplified solutions that not only address the complexity of technology, but also provide simplified workflows that make innovation practical.

Jeetu Patel, EVP and Chief Product Officer, Cisco

Security has been criticized in the past for delaying the adoption of technology, but a good approach to safety and security actually accelerates the adoption of AI.

ServiceNow, Amit Zavery, President, Chief Product Officer and Chief Operating Officer

AI is unlocking new frontiers to transform its business, and to secure its future it needs more than just a reactive defense.
