From books and paintings to film and musical theatres, artists have often drawn biblical stories for inspiration.

Now, social media users are using AI to imagining biblical characters as influencers, giving this trend a distinctly modern twist.

In these videos, characters such as Adam and Eve, Samson and David appear to be “vlogging” biblical events.

In one viral video posted on X, the smiling Jesus declares from the cross.

In another clip, the AI-generated character states: I’m trying to stab this little stone in Goliath and see what happens.

These short AI-generated clips have proven to be extremely popular online, with one Tiktok account earning 26.7 million likes named Theaibibleofficial.

However, commenters are very divided into trends, with some people blasphemingly blowing up the video while others celebrated humorous take on the Bible.

Some fans praised the clip as an educational tool. One commenter wrote:

Social media users reimagined the characters from the Bible, including Jesus as an ai-generated influencer

Some people are furious, while others praise the video. One commenter argued that they may have helped them learn more about religion at school

The AI-generated videos focus on a variety of biblical stories, but usually follow a similar format.

In the video, characters resembling Bible characters talk to the camera as if they were creating a video blog for social media.

To make things even more strange, the characters explain the scenario using modern slang that sounds more like Z’s Tiktok feed than the gospel.

For example, one short clip posted by “AI Filmmaker” PJ Ace gives a strangely modern interpretation of Samson’s story of Philitine’s destruction.

In the video, a blindfolded Samson told the camera: I just did some workouts and I take Finna home. ”

A similar video posted by Theaibibleofficial, entitled “If Samson Had an iPhone,” shows the character playing a biblical scene with Snapchat-style captions.

Other social media users are using AI to create longer vlog style videos to see biblical characters documenting their activities.

One of the videos entitled “If Daniel Had an iPhone” is posed by a Tiktok account named “Holyvlogsz”.

In a video generated by one AI, David told the camera:

In the Tiktok video, the AI-generated characters state: I’ll shoot what I can, but I’m going to explode if I survive. ”

Another video by the same creator shows Adam and Eve eating forbidden fruit and being kicked out of the garden of Eden.

As the video concluded, Adam said:

Social media users have come together to share their enthusiasm for these videos, and some argue that it will help them understand the Bible better.

On Tiktok, one commenter wrote: This format should explain the entire Bible.

Another is, “Oddly, these AI Bible videos actually helped me understand the Bible better.”

One commenter wrote:

Similarly, in X, many commenters were impressed by the quality of the video generated by AI.

Other videos mimic the style of long-form video blogs to re-engrave biblical stories such as the exile of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden

“I forgot that this was AI for a few seconds,” wrote one commenter.

Another fan enthusiastically added: “This may be the biggest video ever made.”

However, some social media users have attacked the trendy lighthearted attitude towards religious issues.

In X, the fierce commenter wrote: “This is clearly a Prophet and Mary’s ock lol. This video looks like the devil’s job.”

Another addition: “This doesn’t feel right for me. It’s cool, but it creeps up above the line of attack.”

One angry commenter accused the video of “shady degenerate.”

Some angry social media users have begun harassing video creators because of their religious content.

In a blog post, creator PJ Ace shared the direct message he received.

Why is Jesus portrayed in many ways?

The physical description of Jesus is not found in the Bible.

He is usually portrayed as a white man in Western artworks, but he is portrayed to appear as if he were Latino or Aboriginal.

This is thought to be more easily related to biblical figures by people from different parts of the world.

The earliest depicts him as a typical Roman man.

IIt is believed that Jesus did not appear with a beard until 400 AD.

Philosophers of the time were usually painted with facial hair, so this is probably to show that he was a wise teacher.

The traditional image of Jesus, fully bearded with long hair, was not established until the sixth century of Eastern Christianity, and far later to the West

Medieval art in Europe usually showed him with brown hair and pale skin.

This image was enhanced during the Italian Renaissance, with famous paintings such as the Last Night Up by Leonardo da Vinci, who showed Christ.

Modern depictions of Jesus in film tend to support long-haired, bearded stereotypes, but some abstract works show him as spirit or light.
