Meta has announced the deployment of new generation AI video editing features available on the Meta AI app, the Meta.ai website, and the editing app. The aim of this innovative tool is to make high quality video editing available to everyone, regardless of technical expertise, by leveraging advanced AI prompts to easily convert short videos.
This feature allows users to upload simple clips and rethink content by selecting from over 50 preset prompts. For example, users can turn simple videos into graphic novels, create dreamy atmospheres with lighting effects, or convert footage into stylized video game scenes. Edits can be seamlessly shared directly from the platform on Facebook and Instagram.
Meta emphasizes that this is just the beginning. “Inspired by our film Gen model, this new feature is the first step to enable users to edit their videos at their own text prompts later this year,” a spokesman for Meta said. “Our goal is to make it easier for everyone to experiment and share engaging content.”
The company emphasizes that the tool is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, encouraging both casual users and content creators to explore new ways to express themselves. The AI-driven editing process is built into Meta’s editing apps and drives seamless creative workflows integrated into the social media ecosystem.
Meta’s continued investment in the AI media generation comes from years of research, including the development of models such as Make-A-Scene and Llama images that allow for the creation and editing of high-quality images, audio and videos. The company’s latest innovation, Movie Gen, combines these modalities to create and modify videos based on simple text input.
With this launch, Meta aims to revolutionize the way users and creators generate and share video content, and to promote more dynamic and personalized storytelling.
