AI-Media’s future-proof products, which can be flexibly scaled across additional content in CME’s portfolio, will allow CME to further expand its reach, the company said.

AI-Media (AIM) has announced a strategic agreement with Central European Media Enterprises (CME).

Under the five-year partnership, AIM’s LEXI solution, powered by an SDI encoder network, will provide AI-generated live captioning to CME television stations in Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. The partnership aims to enable CME to improve user accessibility as it works to achieve its ESG (environmental, social, and governance) goals.

Hana de Goage, Head of Social Purpose and Sustainability at CME, said: “According to our research, more than 10 percent of viewers in our market have some form of hearing loss. By serving the needs of people with disabilities, CME provides access to information and entertainment for all, regardless of ability. We provide equal access.”

As part of its broader commitment to a more just society, the introduction of live captioning allows CME to set a new standard for accessibility in regions where human access to captioning resources is limited, the company said. said.

John Peck, vice president of international sales at AI-Media, commented: “This partnership with CME is an exciting milestone and represents our first major broadcaster in Eastern Europe, resulting in millions of CME viewers receiving access to our LEXI captioning solution. Make your content accessible in 6 different languages. CME’s commitment to accessibility aligns with AI-Media’s vision with AI-Media’s industry-leading captioning technology. We are proud to support CME’s goals and look forward to supporting CME in advancing accessibility across Central and Eastern Europe.”
