The newly released research blueprint from the Info-Tech Research Group provides it and security leaders with a strategic plan to identify and mitigate AI risks. The Global IT Research and Advisory Company framework helps organizations begin effective AI Red Team practices to protect their systems, ensure compliance and strengthen resilience across a rapidly evolving threat landscape.

Toronto, April 23, 2025 /prnewswire/ – As artificial intelligence (AI) is embedded deep into enterprise workflows, new categories of cybersecurity risks are emerging rapidly. While AI tools are increasingly being used to promote innovation and automation, threat actors are using this technology to leverage new vulnerabilities and scale attack vectors. To help organizations tackle these emerging risks, Info-Tech Research Group recently released its blueprint. It outlines a strategic four-stage framework that helps organizations test and protect AI systems against sophisticated attacks. The company’s research addresses that it is being adopted and prepared to face AI-specific threats such as rapid injections, data addiction and hostile manipulation.

AI Red-Teaming is a security exercise that conforms to traditional cybersecurity practices, challenging AI systems such as machine learning (ML) models and generator AI applications, revealing hidden vulnerabilities, biases, and system limitations. Threat actors continue to weaponize AI due to complex attacks, but many organizations remain unprepared and lack dedicated plans to test AI tools or protect against misuse.

“AI technology has enabled organizations to increase productivity, accelerate innovation and enhance security attitudes,” he says. Ahmad Jowara research analyst at Info-Tech Research Group. “However, as it grows, there will be an evolving threat situation as malicious actors leverage AI to increase the sophistication of attacks. AIRed-Teaming provides the necessary countermeasures and helps organizations actively identify vulnerabilities and apply meaningful guardrails.”

Info-Tech resources also highlight the momentum of new global regulations regarding AI safety. Countries like united states of america, Canadathe UK, EU member states, and Australia To ensure the safe use of these technologies, we adopt standards that recommend or mandate AI Red-Teaming. Together with these evolving frameworks, organizations can improve compliance while increasing the resilience of their AI infrastructure.

Info-Tech’s Strategic 4-Stage Framework for AI Red-Teaming

Info-Tech Research Group’s recently published BluePrint’s next practical framework will help organizations launch and operate effective AI Red Team practices.

Defines the range. Identify which AI technologies and use cases are being tested. These may include GEN AI models, AI-enabled chatbots, or traditional ML systems. Framework development: Build interdisciplinary teams including security, compliance and data science experts, and coordinate with methodologies and frameworks for existing best practices such as the Microsoft AI Red Team, Miter Atlas, Nist AI RMF, and OWASP Gen. AI Guide. Tools and Technology Choice: Evaluate tools and technologies that support adversarial testing and validation of AI models, including those highly evaluated by end-users on Info-Tech’s SoftwarereViews platform, meet your organization’s needs, align with internal capabilities, and follow AI security best practices. Establish metrics: Set KPIs to monitor effectiveness, including the number of exploitable vulnerabilities, successful adversary attacks, and compliance with regulatory frameworks.

“To be effective, the AI Red Team needs more than technical testing. It calls for a strategic plan that defines clear goals, manages risks to AI systems, and identifies the right people, processes, and technologies to strengthen trust.” Add a Jowhar.

In addition to reducing exploitable vulnerabilities, the company advises that effective AI red teams can help improve visibility into AI systems’ behavior, support ethical and compliant designs, and restore confidence in high-stakes environments such as healthcare, finance, and government.
