Dimension has developed an end-to-end AI content production pipeline under Dimension Futures Brand.
To prove the technology, Dimension produced a short animation with it, Mara & Milo: Magic & Mayhem. From the initial ideas, storyboards, character and environment design, virtual camera controls, shot composition and narration, everything was completed by a team of two artists supported by the AI pipeline.
The team estimated that the pipeline would reduce production time by a third of what it was. AI is used to iterate through a variety of ideas across characters, costumes, environments, lighting, animation, camera movements, and shot creation and selection. The short film itself is at the bottom of the article, so you can see how it was made below.
Dimensions currently deploy a pipeline internally, providing it specifically to clients who are trying to create animation series, short form content, or ads. It supports content of any style, including Photorealistic.
“We’re committed to providing a great opportunity to help you,” said Junaid Baig, Chief Innovation Officer at Dimension Studio.
“What our team can do is codify the ways we use tools to enable consistent outcomes for characters and environments, and maintain control over camera movements and assets between shots to animate multiple characters at once.”
Simon Windsor, co-CEO of Dimension Studio, added: “AI is an innovative technology that transforms filmmaking and storytelling at unprecedented speed and scale.
“Our Futures team is focused on moving forward with next-generation content creation and we look forward to putting the AI pipeline into the hands of artists and clients to support their creative vision.”
