HàNộI – Experts met at an international conference held at Hànội on Friday, hosted by the Academy of Journalism and Communications (AJC) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). They discussed how journalism must adapt to meet the evolving demands of the digital age.
Lê Hải Bình, deputy minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, highlights the deep impact of AI, warning that technology provides powerful tools for media development, but raises important ethical challenges such as the spread of fake news and manipulation of public awareness.
Against this background, he called for an interdisciplinary and flexible approach to media governance involving states, press and journalism schools that help train future journalists and protect the party’s ideology. He emphasized that journalism is entering a new era where technology can generate and distribute news faster than humans. However, the core values of journalism (integrity, integrity, constructive social contribution) reveal human responsibility.
The need to complete the legal framework of AI in journalism, support the adoption of advanced technology in the newsroom, and enhance the digital capabilities of journalists, Bình says that educational institutions play an important role in preparing personnel adjustments to the modern media landscape.

Meanwhile, Lee Byunghwa, director of Koica Vietnam Office, has pledged his support for ViệtNam’s media development through continued knowledge exchange and cooperation with AJC and other Vietnamese partners.
The conference focused on four key areas: the impact of AI, its opportunities and challenges, policy, technology and training strategies, and the role of educational institutions in preparing the next generation of journalists. – VNS
