JAKARTA – As security threats become increasingly complex as organizations face, security executives have begun strategically switching to the latest integrated security and technology platforms. These findings are listed in the 2025 Security and Identity Industry Report (Status of Security and Identity Report 2025) from HID.

The report brings together responses from 1,800 partners, end users, security practitioners, and around the world. The report reveals a major change in the way businesses adopt security systems with the advent of mobile qualifications and artificial intelligence as key to innovation.

“We are committed to providing a range of services that are important to us,” said Ramesh Songukrishnasamy, Senior Vice President and Head of Technology at HID.

In fact, 73% of executives in the security sector currently prioritize software-based integrated solutions (software), leaving behind traditional methods that tend to work with each other. Organizations increasingly need platforms that can scale up (increase) to their needs, and at the same time, these platforms can provide intelligence data to help businesses make decisions.

Some of the main findings from this report:

Showing a rapid rise in mobile credentials and biometric adoption, a shift from traditional access methods

Mobile credentials are experiencing rapid growth. 61% of security executives view it as a major trend, indicating a major change in traditional access methods. Almost two-thirds of them implement or plan to adopt mobile solutions. At the same time, demand for biometric authentication technologies such as fingerprint scanning, slices (eyes), and facial recognition (face recognition) is also increasing. Currently, around 35% of respondents use biological technology, while the other 13% of adoption plans show significant growth potential in this segment.

Demand for integrated security management solutions is growing for more efficient operation

Today, the company implements a wide range of security technologies. In addition to this, many security executives (67%) are beginning to switch to software-based security (software) solutions. 73% emphasize that integrating the different methods of data collection is “important enough” or “very important” for the company.

Open platforms that support unobstructed integration are becoming increasingly popular

Interoperability has been key to advancement in the security industry in recent years. This trend is marked by over 50% of security experts who consider open platforms to be “very important” or “critical observers” for businesses.

Strategically focus on integrated platform solutions rather than standalone products

Almost two-thirds of the company and 73% of security integrators and consultants have switched to software-based security (software) solutions that allow for integration of traditional and digital systems with video surveillance (supervisory), access control, and intrusion detection.

Security channels (security channels) undergo major transformation driven by digital innovation

Security channels have undergone major transformation thanks to digital innovation. A total of 77% of channel partners believe they can adapt to changes as end-user demand for advanced analytics capabilities that change expectations for AI, cloud solutions, IoT integration and security services. To remain competitive, the canal must continue to grow and adapt to market needs and digital transformation rates in the security sector.

Accelerating AI agents (artificial intelligence agencies) to enhance security operations

AI agents are increasingly being used to enhance security operations, such as the widespread use of AI agents in control access, identity management, video and security management platforms. Key benefits of AI agents include increased efficiency and speed of security processes (50%) and improved real-time data analytics capabilities (47%).

Sustainability factors are increasingly being taken into consideration in decision-making as long as budgets are consistent

Sustainability remains a key factor in decision-making, and 75% of security executives take that into consideration when choosing the best security solution for their company. However, this factor is not the most important. There is still security and cost-effectiveness, which is the top priority of 80% of security integrators and consultants.

The English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic and French versions are automatically generated by AI. Therefore, there may still be inaccuracies in the translation. Always consider Indonesian as our main language. (Systems supported by digitalsiber.id)
