Starting today, Gemini Advanced users can generate and share videos using the latest video model, Veo 2. Gemini now allows you to translate text-based prompts into dynamic videos. Google Labs makes VEO 2 available from Whisk. Whisk is a generation AI experiment that allows you to create new images using both text and image prompts and animate them into a video.
How to create a video with Gemini
VEO 2 represents a progression in film generation and is designed to create high-resolution, detailed videos with cinema realism. A better understanding of real-world physics and human movements provides finer visual details across fluid character movements, realistic scenes, and diverse themes and styles.
To generate a video, select VEO 2 from the Gemini model dropdown. This feature creates 8-second video clips at 720p resolution and is delivered as MP4 files in a 16:9 landscape format. There is a monthly limit to the number of videos you can create, but we’ll let you know when you approach it.
Creating videos with Gemini is easy. Describe the scene you want to create – whether it’s a short story, a visual concept, or a particular scene, Gemini will make your ideas come true. The more detailed the description, the more control you will have than the final video. This opens up a fun world of creative possibilities, allowing your imagination to imagine unrealistic combinations, explore a variety of visual styles, from realism to fantasy, and narrate short visual ideas.
One of the best parts of creating is sharing it with others. It’s easy to share videos on mobile. Tap the share button to quickly upload engaging short videos to platforms like Tiktok and YouTube shorts.
