Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin rejected the law Monday. This called for proactively monitoring the artificial intelligence used to actively monitor the AI used to make decisions for employment, finance and other sectors, according to a governor’s spokesperson.
This measure (HB 2094) has become the second state of comprehensive technology restrictions following the 2024 Colorado Act (SB 205). Lawmakers from California, Texas, New York and other states are considering similar legislation.
