Stony Brook University’s Department of Computer Science (CS) is leading the charge in innovating vaccine development with artificial intelligence (AI) as Professor Haibin Ling joins an $11 million research initiative from the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). It plays a role.
The project, known as SPHERICAL (Scientific Platform for High-Efficacy Antigen Design Through Robust Integration of Computational Experimentation, AI, and Protein Modeling), aims to , aims to transform the way vaccines are developed.
“This collaboration is a unique opportunity to apply cutting-edge AI technology to one of health care’s most important challenges,” said Lin, who will lead Stony Brook’s contribution to the project. “By developing innovative deep learning solutions, we are working to make vaccine development more efficient and effective, potentially saving countless lives.”
