At the TikTok US Creator Summit, TikTok announced AI-powered tools that make it easier to create and share on TikTok.
Smart split for efficient editing
TikTok is introducing Smart Split, an AI-powered editing tool that makes content creation more efficient and accessible. Available globally in TikTok Studio Web, Smart Split automatically clips, reframes, captions, and transcribes long content into multiple short videos that can be used on TikTok. For example, Smart Split helps creators split daily life vlogs or podcast episodes into multiple clips.
First, creators upload content longer than a minute and select the parts they want to turn into shorter clips. Based on the selected parts of the video, Smart Split automatically selects the length of the video or allows creators to choose a specific length of the video. Additionally, creators can choose from a variety of caption formatting options and reframe their content into vertical clips. Once Smart Split creates a clip, creators can select any video and upload it directly to their TikTok account.
AI overview
TikTok is also rolling out AI Outlines, a new AI-powered creation tool to ease the creative process. AI Outline helps creators structure their content by generating video titles, hashtags, hooks, and outlines by typing prompts or selecting commonly searched topics in Creator Search Insights. AI outlines give creators deeper ideas about how to structure their content to support their creative process.
AI Outline generates an outline that divides the video into six parts, which can be customized by creators. For example, creators can create videos in their own style by making titles longer or shorter, adjusting hooks and general script ideas. Once the outline is complete, creators can record the video and upload it to TikTok. Starting today, AI Outline is available to creators 18 and older in the U.S., Canada, and select markets, and will become more widely available in the coming weeks.
Subscription Revenue Share Update
TikTok also announced revenue sharing updates for its subscription products, allowing creators to receive up to 90% of profit payments. Subscriptions allow TikTok creators to build stronger, more engaging communities while earning money through a monthly subscription fee that gives them access to exclusive benefits like special badges, subscriber-only posts, chat features, and more.
After the update, creators will receive a 70% share of TikTok’s revenue, excluding fees, and creators who meet other requirements (10,000 followers, 100,000 views in the last month, and at least 3 subscription-only videos posted in the last month) will earn an additional 20% monthly compensation on top of that, for a total of up to 90% of revenue.
