LONDON – Subtitling solutions provider AI Media has announced a five-year agreement with Central European Media Enterprise (CME) to provide subtitling services. This agreement marks the company’s first acquisition of a major broadcast customer in Central and Eastern Europe.

AI-Media will provide live captioning services to CME’s six flagship television stations in Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia via its LEXI solution powered by an SDI encoder network.

Under this multi-year agreement, AI-Media will provide each broadcaster with AI-generated live captioning.

“This partnership with CME is an exciting milestone and represents the first major broadcaster in Eastern Europe, resulting in millions of CME viewers accessing the six ” said John Peck, vice president of international sales. AI Media said: “CME’s commitment to accessibility aligns with AI-Media’s vision, and we are proud to support AI-Media’s goals with our industry-leading captioning technology: Advancing accessibility across Central and Eastern Europe. We look forward to supporting CME.”

“Our research shows that more than 10% of viewers in our market have some form of hearing loss,” said Hana de Goage, Head of Social Purpose and Sustainability at CME. added. “By addressing the needs of people with disabilities, CME ensures equal access to information and entertainment for everyone, regardless of ability.”

AI-Media’s products, which can flexibly scale across CME’s portfolio of additional content, will enable CME to expand its accessibility services over time. Together, AI-Media and CME are setting new benchmarks for inclusivity in broadcasting and making a lasting impact on millions of viewers across the region.
