The Corporate Affairs Committee has announced a pilot artificial intelligence-driven registration portal to reduce business registration.
The innovation was disclosed during the 2025 Stakeholders Forum Meeting by Husseini Ishak Magazi, the committee’s registration general and the committee’s chief executive officer.
A statement issued by the CAC on Tuesday said the portal would significantly reduce its registration timeline.
The committee said the initiative will ultimately strengthen its efforts to make business easier in Africa’s most populous countries.
Magaji said: βIt is designed to propose available alternatives, grant real-time approval and remove traditional bottlenecks.
“The target time for business registration is less than 30 minutes to generate a certificate that is subject to real-time NIN verification and deliver it to customer emails.”
AI-powered portals have the ability to promote business registration using only the national identification number of the director or owner.
DG explained that if the real-time Nin verification is successful, a founding certificate will be generated and sent to the applicant’s email within 30 minutes.
However, he acknowledged the delay that could occur due to external verification from the National Identity Management Committee.
According to him, the platform has a contingency plan that uses AI-driven photo ID matching to overcome such problems.
CAC Boss has announced that the CAC mobile application will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2025. This allows users to track and manage transactions.
