Solutions address key challenges in enterprise AI adoption. Allows safe model serving across the environment, scalable data movement, and real-time inference

F5 (NASDAQ:FFIV), a global leader in the delivery and protection of all APPs and APIs, has announced an enhanced collaboration with Red Hat, the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, helping businesses deploy and scale secure, high-performance AI applications. By enabling integration of F5 application delivery and security platforms using Red Hat OpenShift AI, F5 customers can adopt AI faster and more securely, focusing on practical and valuable use cases such as searched high scores (RAG), secure model serving, and scalable data intake.

“Companies want to leverage the power of AI, but face major challenges in scaling and securing these applications,” says Kunal Anand, F5’s Chief Innovation Officer. “The collaboration with Red Hat aims to simplify this journey by providing integrated solutions to meet performance, security and observability needs, enabling organizations to achieve tangible AI results.”

This collaboration comes at a time when AI adoption is accelerating. According to F5’s 2025 Application Strategy Report, 96% of organizations currently deploy AI models, up from just 25% in 2023. Furthermore, the report highlights that 72% of respondents aim to optimize application performance using AI, while 59% focus on cost optimization and security enhancement.

To support these growing demands, F5 is working with Red Hat to focus on the real-world building blocks that companies need to operate AI. From data pipeline security to inference performance optimization, F5 solutions are tailored to enable organizations to deploy AI with confidence, speed, and control.

The key areas of collaboration include:

Large RAG and Models – F5 supports AI-powered applications with Red Hat OpenShift AI that combines large language models with private datasets, ensuring secure data flow, high GPU usage and fast response times. Big Data Movement and Intake – Minio and F5 are working in tandem with Red Hat OpenShift AI, allowing customers to accelerate the intake of large datasets for training and inference. API First AI Security – F5 offers robust protection against evolving threats such as rapid injection, model theft, and data leaks through F5 distributed cloud WAAP and F5 BIG-IP solutions.

As part of its vision, F5 is committed to promoting open source innovation through collaboration with Red Hat. Red Hat OpenShift AI provides a modular open platform for building and deploying AI applications across hybrid environments, with F5’s API gateways and AI security features designed to integrate more seamlessly without locking customers into a single cloud or tool set. With this collaboration, F5 is using Red Hat OpenShift AI to help organizations take an open and flexible approach to AI infrastructure.

“When AI becomes the center of business operations and competition, organizations need a platform that provides flexibility without compromising security,” said Joe Fernandes, vice president and general manager of the AI business unit at Red Hat. “The future of AI is open source, and when used in conjunction with the robust security and observability of F5, Red Hat OpenShift AI provides the tools organizations need to build and scale AI applications with greater confidence.”

This collaboration will be featured at this week’s Red Hat Summit 2025 (Boston, May 19th-22nd). Here, F5 and its partners highlight real-world AI use cases that include serving and lag workloads of secure models built with Red Hat OpenShift AI.
