Hanmi Global Chairman Kim Jong-hoon on Monday called for the construction of a new business model that utilizes artificial intelligence to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Korean construction management company’s founding.
In his 2026 New Year’s address, Kim raised the slogan “Design the future and create new businesses,” and emphasized that next year must be a turning point for fundamental innovation. “We have to go beyond responding to change and create new markets to restructure our business,” he said.
Kim emphasized the need to heighten the sense of crisis, warning that complacency poses the greatest risk amid prolonged economic uncertainty.
“Success doesn’t come automatically,” he said. “There is no room for passivity, blame-shifting, or siled thinking in our organization.”
Mr. Kim identified strong teamwork as the foundation for new business creation and encouraged management and employees to work as a single unit. He called for a clear “winning strategy” underpinned by thorough preparation and disciplined execution in the bidding and contract process.
He also emphasized that artificial intelligence is a key source of differentiation. “AI is no longer an option. It is essential,” Kim said, directing all divisions to develop concrete plans for AI implementation and work closely with the company’s AI transformation office to create new customer value.
Mr. Kim concluded his speech by reflecting on Hanmi Global’s 30-year history of contributing to the establishment of Korea’s construction project management market and expansion of its global footprint.
