KUALA LUMPUR: Artificial intelligence is an important tool in security efforts, but challenges such as ethical issues also need to be addressed, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
The Home Minister called the technology a “game changer” in his opening speech at the Asia International Security Summit & Expo 2025 (AISSE2o25) held at the Putrajaya International Conference Center (PICC).

“AI is more than just a tool; it’s a game-changer in security operations. From predictive analytics to advanced surveillance, AI can detect threats faster and with greater accuracy.
“At the same time, this raises new ethics and governance challenges that we must address together,” he said.
He added that he hoped the expo would serve as a platform to address goals in line with “ASEAN’s vision for resilience and prosperity.”
These include building sustainable industries and promoting regional cooperation on information and communications technology (ICT) and cybersecurity.

“Ladies and gentlemen, AISSE25 is more than just a gathering of experts and leaders, it is a call to action.
“This is an opportunity to share knowledge, build partnerships and develop strategies that will shape a safer and more prosperous future for our region and the world.
