From July 7th to July 11th, we held our first Open Source AI Game Jam. This is an exciting event that challenges game developers to use AI to create innovative games within a limited time of 48 hours.
The main goal was to create a game that incorporated at least one open source AI tool. Although the use of proprietary AI tools was allowed, participants were encouraged to integrate open source tools into their games and workflows.
The response to our efforts has exceeded our expectations, with over 1,300 sign-ups and 88 amazing game submissions.

Theme: Expansion
We decided on the theme “EXPANDING” to stimulate creativity. We left it open to interpretation, allowing developers to explore and experiment with ideas, and resulting in a diverse range of games.

Games were rated by colleagues and contributors based on three main criteria: fun, creativity, and adherence to theme.
The top 10 matches were then presented to three judges (Dylan Evert, Thomas Simonini, and Omar Sanseviero) who selected the best match.

Winner 🏆🥇
After careful deliberation, the judges recognized one outstanding game as the winner of the Open Source AI Game Jam.
Snip It by ohmlet👏👏👏.
Code: Ruben Gres AI Assets: Philippe Saade Music / SFX: Matthieu Deloffre
In this AI-generated game, you visit a museum where paintings come to life. Cut out objects in paintings to reveal their hidden secrets.
