Data and AI Executives will be discussing the key challenges of AI adoption in anticipation of this session at the Broker Innovation Summit 2025.
Fake AI-related online content, cyberattacks and loss of privacy are most likely to affect Australians over the next decade. investigation According to the University of Queensland.
Before his session at Broker Innovation Summit 2025Silvio Giorgio, executives at Data and AI shared the controls that brokers should implement as ethical and security safeguards to minimize these risks.
“There is growing attention to the safe and responsible use of AI, especially the use of data or personal information,” he told Broker Daily.
“In addition, the evolution of AI features into image and audio is expanding when there is a need to add protection to identifiers.
According to 9News, Australia is one of the largest AI adopters in the world, with the recently released Minister of Industrial Innovation and Minister of Science and Science Tim Ayers report that 41% of small and medium-sized businesses currently employ AI.
The technology has a huge advantage for businesses, with 22% saying it has improved decision-making speeds and an additional 18% saying it has increased productivity.
The possibilities for AI are endless, but technology integration poses great risks.
“Australia is carefully adapting to the risks of using data and AI,” said data and AI leaders.
“Our government has provided organizations with ethical standards to guide the development and use of artificial intelligence.
“Privacy reforms will increase control over the use of personal information in automated decision-making technologies that have a significant impact on individual rights, resulting in even more severe consequences of making a mistake.
“Voluntary AI safety standards are designed to help you develop, deploy and use AI systems safely and responsibly at various risk levels.”
In an AI-driven future, Giorgio warned brokers to be cautious when adopting technology, highlighting deep fakes and misinformation as important concerns.
“It will become increasingly difficult to know what’s real. Images developed by AI look real, as are the videos they generate,” he said.
“A voice generated by AI can sound like a real person and can make it sound exactly like you.
“Deepfakes can cause harm and as technology improves, the more likely it will cause more harm.
“There’s a lot of debate in this area, from clear labelling when people are involved with AI agents or when they see AI-generated content to taking greater precautions about how they’re done with better perceptions of fraud and advertising, to how they’ll protect visual portraits, audio and video recordings.”
