Two Belize Senators recently participated in an international workshop on artificial intelligence (AI) and security, where they engaged with global experts on the challenges and opportunities posed by emerging technologies.
Puppy Isabel Bennett Moody and Sen. Kevin Herrera of the Belize Chamber of Commerce and the Belize Business Bureau will represent Belize at AI, a security workshop hosted by the Parliamentary Association’s UK Branch (CPA UK) and Chatham House. I did.

The workshop brought together legislators from across the federation to explore the role of AI in global security, including its impact on governance, military applications, cybersecurity, and disinformation. Senator Bennett Moody led the discussion on AI integration in military strategy, including a gathering of autonomous drones and intelligence, emphasizing the need for accountability and human surveillance in AI-led wars.
During the workshop, the Belize delegation also observed AI-related policy scrutiny in AI-related policy scrutiny, attending hearings from the government’s UK Public Accounts Committee on AI and sessions in the House and House of Representatives. did.
