MUMBAI: To strengthen security and streamline visitor management at Mantralaya, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed authorities to implement advanced AI technology. The decision was announced at a cabinet meeting on Thursday.

“Our aim is not to reduce footfall at Mantralaya, but to ensure that every individual entering the premises is properly identified,” Fadnavis said. He explained that a new system will be introduced where visitors can register online and receive an admission ticket. This slip must be presented at the entrance gate and handed in upon exit.

“With this system, we will be able to monitor people who come and go on a regular basis or who stay for long periods of time. Suspicions regarding agents and contact persons will also be effectively addressed,” he said.

Fadnavis highlighted plans to reduce unnecessary visits to Mantralaya by strengthening district-level grievance redressal mechanism. “Many issues brought to Mantralaya can be resolved at the district level itself. Creating a strong grievance redressal system will ensure that people do not have to go to Mantralaya for issues that can be handled locally. “We aim to do so,” he added.

Mr. Fadnavis directed that advanced technologies such as AI be introduced in the systematic process from entry to exit of Mantralaya and said, “Officers and staff who regularly enter and exit Vidhan Bhavan during Parliament sessions will be required to Security passes should be provided to allow access to all facilities.” region. Additionally, construction of an underground passage between Mantralaya and Vidhan Bhawan is underway. This corridor should include designated entry points for officers and staff heading towards Vidhan Bhawan. ”

He also directed to complete the security network on each floor of Mantralaya. Once the work is complete, the temporary safety net must be removed. Proper inspection of belongings should be carried out at the entrance to Mantralei to ensure that no objectionable items are brought onto the premises.
