The use of AI-driven drone technology to study animal populations will be the focus of the March 28 “Findlay at Findlay” presentation at Findlay University.
Jenna Kline, a Computer Science PhD candidate at Ohio State University, discusses “Drone and AI in Outdoor Animal Ecology: Integration of Biology, Animal Science and Technology.”
Her presentation is open to the public and will be held in the Winebrenner building, the TLB auditorium on the UF campus. Opens at 7:30am and holds a breakfast buffet with a presentation between 7:50am and 9am
Kline’s research develops AI-driven drone technology for field animal ecology, integrating computer vision, robotics and edge computing to enhance wildlife monitoring and behavioral analysis in remote environments.
She shares fieldwork at Wild Conservation Centers in Kenya and Ohio, and how AI can be applied to study animal behavior across a variety of ecosystems.
By bridging biology and animal science to technology, she aims to improve real-time ecological data collection and support conservation strategies.
