Unlike other companies, Openai does not struggle with market demand. Oliver Jay, managing director of Openai’s international strategy, pointed out. However, the challenge lies in converting demand into real applications.

“The biggest challenge right now is… to translate that enthusiasm into a real-life production-ready use case,” he said. “The gap is AI’s flow ency. Knowing how to turn these concepts into real business products.” -Oliver Jay from CNBC’s Converge Live

As AI competition intensifies, large companies are moving forward quickly, especially after the emergence of Deepseek. With the latest updates, Openai has launched a new tool to help developers build advanced AI agents. This is done through several application programming interfaces (APIs). A new tool known as the Responses API is available to all developers at no additional cost and replaces OpenAI’s assistant API.

The adoption and advancements of AI, including those from Openai, are happening rapidly at once, with almost everyone participating in them. Jay pointed out how city-states have the best use of ChatGpt in the world, regarding the rapid rise in ChATGPT usage at two-day live events in Singapore. Furthermore, the advent of artificial intelligence technology is a special opportunity for all businesses.

“This is the first time that Asian companies have potentially been able to play a leadership role on the global stage,” he said. “Traditionally, you’ve seen technology first adopted in Silicon Valley and then in Europe. …There’s a possibility that there are some of the most innovative companies from Asia right now.”

Even Asian companies have the opportunity to lead global innovation through artificial intelligence. Countries such as China, South Korea and India have invested heavily in AI and can equally challenge Silicon Valley’s dominance in the next wave of technological advances.
