Google Cloud has launched Gemini Enterprise, a new platform that the company calls “the new gateway to AI in the workplace.”
The platform, announced at a virtual press conference, integrates core technologies from Google’s Gemini model, first-party and third-party agents, and what was formerly known as Google Agentspace to create a single agent platform. We aim to democratize the creation and use of AI-powered agents, automate complex workflows, and improve productivity across organizations.
Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian introduced the new service, explaining that customers are moving away from simply building applications using AI, and the company recognizes that customers are “moving toward building agents.”
Gemini Enterprise is Google’s answer to this evolution, bundling the entire AI stack into a consistent user experience and enabling developers and business users alike to build agents in a no-code workbench.
The platform is built on six core components. The “brain” is Google’s powerful Gemini model, including the newly available Gemini 2.5 Flash Image. Workbench is an agent creation and orchestration technology developed at Agentspace that allows any user to manage agents and automate processes. Finally, this is complemented by ‘taskforce’, a suite of pre-built Google agents for specialized jobs such as the new Code Assist Agent and Deep Research Agent.
To make these agents effective, they’re deeply integrated with your company’s data through new connectors for systems like Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, Box, Confluence, and Jira. Mr. Kurian explained the system’s intelligence: “We remember who you are and what you do, and we use that to personalize the user’s context when working with large language models.”
A central “governance” framework allows organizations to monitor, secure, and audit all agents from one place, and includes built-in protections like Model Armor. Finally, the platform is built on an open “ecosystem” of over 100,000 partners.
Gemini Enterprise: A glimpse into the future of work
To demonstrate the platform’s capabilities, Maryam Gholami described a real-world use case.
“The benefit of Gemini Enterprise is that it is built for enterprise workflows, including full control to enable or disable sources as needed, while still providing the familiar interface of Gemini,” said Gholami.
Using a custom “campaign agent,” she used four different agents to handle market research, media generation, team communications, and inventory management. Agents identified market trends toward a sci-fi theme, flagged a 25% inventory gap, created purchase orders in ServiceNow, drafted emails to store managers, and generated social media assets.
“Gemini Enterprise is more than just a chat interface,” Gholami concluded after the demonstration. “It is an end-to-end AI system that unifies data, tools, and teams, turning weeks of complex work into a single, streamlined conversation.”
Customers drive transformation with AI fleets
Nirmal Saverimuttu, CEO of Virgin Voyages, attested to the real-world value of the platform and shared his view that “a cultural shift is needed to succeed with major disruptions like AI.”
Importantly, Saberimuthu emphasized that AI’s role is to work with teams, not replace them.
“Our greatest asset is our people. AI. And our people will never be replaced,” he said. “For me, AI is about getting the best out of your employees. It’s about unlocking human potential.”
The cruise line has more than 50 AI-focused agents company-wide. The first, Email Ellie, increased content production speed by 40% and contributed to a 28% year-over-year increase in sales in July. Saberimuthu also cited welcome operational benefits, including “a 35% reduction in the cost of agency dependence and the creation of creative independence.”
Another early adopter is Macquarie Bank. One of Australia’s largest banks has rolled out Gemini Enterprise to its entire workforce and reports that 99% of its employees have already completed generative AI training.
Google emphasized that Gemini Enterprise is an open platform, with partners such as Box, Salesforce, and ServiceNow announcing compatible agents. The new AI Agent Finder also helps customers discover thousands of verified partner solutions.
To help with adoption, Google also launched Google Skills, a new free learning platform with 3,000 courses. As part of this, the company announced the Gemini Enterprise Agent Ready (GEAR) program. An educational sprint designed to help 1 million developers build and deploy agents.
Gemini Enterprise pricing and availability
Gemini Enterprise is available worldwide in all countries where Google Cloud products are sold. Gemini Business for small businesses starts at $21 per seat per month, and Gemini Enterprise Standard and Plus editions for large businesses start at $30 per seat per month.
For Kuran, this announcement means democratizing powerful technology.
“Gemini Enterprise technology is actually a re-imagining of super-powerful AI technology[for the workplace]but making it very easy to use and making it available to every company and every user in that company,” Kurian concludes.
