Today, we’re rolling out a new image editing model from Google DeepMind in the Gemini app. People are already excited about this feature in early previews. This is the highest rated image editing model in the world. We’re excited to announce that it’s now integrated into the Gemini app, giving you more control than ever to create the perfect photo.

We launched native image editing in the Gemini app earlier this year and have been working hard to improve it, with a particular focus on preserving character authenticity from one image to the next. We know that subtle imperfections matter when editing photos of yourself or people you know. I don’t feel that depictions that are “similar but not exactly the same” are appropriate. That’s why our latest updates are designed to help you consistently look like yourself in photos of friends, family, and even pets, whether you’re trying out a ’60s beehive haircut or dressing your Chihuahua in a tutu.
Just give Gemini a photo to work with and tell it what you want to change to add your own personal touch. With Gemini, you can combine photos to take a photo with your pet, change the background of your room to preview new wallpapers, and place yourself anywhere in the world you can imagine. All while being yourself. Once you’re done, you can also upload your edited images to Gemini to turn your new photos into fun videos.
