Starting today, Gemini Advanced users can now generate and share videos using the cutting-edge video model Veo 2. Gemini now lets you turn text-based prompts into dynamic videos. Google Labs is also making Veo 2 available through Whisk, a generative AI experiment that can use both text and image prompts to create new images and animate them into videos.
How to create videos with Gemini
Veo 2 represents a breakthrough in video generation, designed to produce high-resolution, detailed video with cinematic realism. A deeper understanding of real-world physics and human movement delivers fluid character movement, lifelike scenes, and greater visual detail across a variety of subjects and styles.
To generate the video, select Veo 2 from Gemini’s model dropdown. This feature creates an 8-second video clip at 720p resolution and delivers it as an MP4 file in 16:9 landscape format. There is a limit to the number of videos you can create each month, but you will be notified when the limit is near.
Creating videos with Gemini is easy. Whether it’s a short story, a visual concept, or a specific scene, just describe the scene you want to create and Gemini will bring your ideas to life. The more detailed the description, the more control you have over the final video. This opens up a world of creative and fun possibilities, allowing you to use your imagination to draw unrealistic combinations, explore different visual styles from realism to fantasy, and quickly illustrate short visual ideas.
One of the most fun parts of creating is sharing it with others. Sharing videos on mobile is easy. Quickly upload short, engaging videos to platforms like TikTok and YouTube Shorts with a tap of the share button.
