Dubai Press Club (DPC) held a workshop entitled “Generated AI and Applications in Media,” which gave media experts and content creators a detailed understanding of the latest AI-powered tools that transform digital storytelling and media production.
The workshop, held on Thursday in collaboration with Dubai Future Academy, an affiliate of the Dubai Future Foundation, was delivered by Dr. Mohammed Kasem, dean of Dubai Future Academy and board member of the Digital School.
The session aims to enhance the AI skills of media experts through cutting-edge tools, explore new opportunities in digital media and AI-powered storytelling, understand the future impact of AI on the industry, and provide AI-generated content creation hands-on experience.
The 3-hour interactive session gave participants practical experience using AI tools to generate text, images, videos and interactive content. It is also equipped with the skills to utilize generation AI for content creation, allowing you to generate more efficient production of high-quality, attractive materials.
Mariam Al Mura, acting director of the Dubai Press Club, said the workshop highlights the club’s commitment to raising media experts and keeping up with digital transformation.
“AI is now an important media tool and has the skills to leverage its potential for journalists. We have worked with Dubai Future Academy to provide hands-on learning experiences and enable participants to explore AI-driven content creation.”
She said, “This workshop marks an important step in enhancing the AI capabilities of media experts and driving advances in Arabic media content across the region and across the region.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Qasem said the workshop would provide media experts with the opportunity to integrate AI into their work and develop advanced skills in language models, image generation and video creation.
He also highlighted the role of workshops with essential AI expertise for DPC members, allowing them to navigate the evolving media landscape. “This session highlights the importance of responsible use to address potential limitations of AI, maximize efficiency and avoid common pitfalls,” Dr. Qasem said.
“This workshop gave media experts a deeper understanding of how to use advanced AI tools to increase creativity and produce engaging content that meets evolving industry standards and audience expectations,” he added.
