Cybercriminals leverage machine learning models to create hyper-personalized phishing campaigns, deploy self-evolving malware, and coordinate supply chain compromises on an industrial scale.

From Deepfake CEO fraud to AI-generated ransomware, these attacks harness the vulnerabilities of human psychology and technological infrastructure to force organizations into a relentless defensive weapons race.

AI-driven social engineering: The death of trust

Genetic AI has erased traditional phishing metrics such as grammar errors and general greetings.

Attackers now use large-scale language models (LLMs) to analyze social media profiles, public records and corporate communications, enabling hyper-target business email compromise (BEC) attacks.

North America, for example, saw a dramatic surge in deepfark fraud, with criminals adjusting executive voices from public videos to approve fraudulent transactions.

In one well-known case, the attacker used AI to mimic the voice of a high-tech CEO and sent personalized voicemails to employees to steal credentials.

These campaigns take advantage of the nuances of behavior. AI-generated scripts reference internal projects, mimic writing styles, and even adapt to local dialects.

Cybersecurity frameworks have evolved to highlight continuous monitoring, zero trust architecture, and robust employee training to counter social engineering.

Regulators are also intervening, proposing transparency in the AI ​​model and supply chain security standards. However, as the generation AI progresses, the arms race between attackers and defenders shows no signs of slowing down.

Organizations that flourish since 2025 will recognize AI as both a tool and a target, employing proactive, adaptive, and intelligence-driven security strategies to protect digital futures.
