Neo Health has raised $700 million to expand its AI body scanning in the U.S., starting with its New York clinic. The company’s preventive screening service combines medical imaging, blood tests, proprietary sensors, and clinician reviews.
The Series C round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and co-led by OG Venture Partners. Existing investors Atomico, General Catalyst, and Lakestar were joined by new backers including Liberty City Ventures, Positive Sum, and BDT & MSD.
David Offerer of OG Venture Partners will join Neko’s board of directors, subject to regulatory approval.
The latest round brings Neco’s total publicly traded funds since 2023 to more than $1 billion. The company raised a $65 million Series A round in 2023, followed by another $260 million in January 2025.
The round also includes investments from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan, former tennis player Maria Sharapova, musician will.i.am and former soccer player Thierry Henry. Existing individual investors include Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and actor Zoe Saldaña.
How Neo Health’s AI body scan works
Neko runs a clinic that combines full body scans, blood tests, artificial intelligence and custom medical equipment. The service screens customers for potential signs of conditions such as skin cancer, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes.
The company describes the service as a 60-minute, non-invasive, radiation-free health assessment. Using proprietary sensors and blood analysis, it tests for skin conditions, blood abnormalities, indicators of prediabetes, and risk factors associated with metabolic syndrome, stroke, and heart attack.
The scan also includes more than 2,000 high-resolution images used for electrocardiograms, arterial measurements, body composition analysis, and mapping of the customer’s skin. Your blood sample will be processed at the clinic, so you can see your results during the same visit.
Your results will be discussed with you during a face-to-face meeting with your health care professional.
Many of the measurements, such as blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, electrocardiogram data, and skin assessments, are already available through traditional medical services. The feline model combines these with proprietary image processing, automated data collection, on-site blood processing, and clinician consultation in a single appointment.
The company’s published clinical materials reviewed for this article do not include comparative studies demonstrating whether this combination approach improves clinical outcomes or cost-effectiveness compared to established preventive treatment pathways.
Neko said the funding will support the opening of clinics in New York and other U.S. cities. No additional locations have been identified, and no detailed expansion schedule has been disclosed.
The waiting list for the New York clinic is published on the company’s website. Neko did not say how much the scan would cost in the United States.
The company currently operates eight clinics in the UK and Sweden, including two in Stockholm, one each in Manchester and Birmingham, and four in London – Marylebone, Spitalfields, Covent Garden and Victoria.
The scan costs £299 in the UK and SEK 2,750 in Sweden, which equates to about $400 and $285.
Neko said it has completed 100,000 scans since launching in 2023. More than 350,000 people have signed up for a scan or joined a waiting list.
The company says 75% of its customers book and prepay for another scan at the end of their appointment.
A repeat appointment model allows clinicians to compare measurements and skin images over time. The published information reviewed for this article does not contain evidence establishing whether annual screening intervals are appropriate for all ages or risk groups.
Founded in 2018 by Spotify co-founder Daniel Ek and CEO Hjalmar Nilssonne, Neko operated largely in public view before launching in 2023.
Nilsonne said part of the new capital will fund further research and development of preventive screening technologies.
Neko recently added clinician review of body composition measurements and wearable device data throughout the clinic. We also introduced the latest versions of Derma, Echo, and Spectrum, medical devices that collect information about your skin, heart function, and circulation.
The company said the new device captures larger amounts of health data and automates more parts of the scanning process. The company plans to roll out the device across its clinics in the coming months.
Clinic-based models require unique equipment, blood processing capacity, medical personnel, and expert review of some findings. Neko said the seven-room Covent Garden clinic is designed to support tens of thousands of scans a year, but did not provide capacity or staffing numbers for the planned U.S. site.
US regulations and access
Two devices developed in-house by Neko received clearance through the FDA’s 510(k) pathway in May 2026, according to FDA records. Derma-2 was approved as an auxiliary telethermography system and Spectrum-2 was approved as a tissue saturation oximeter used for cardiovascular measurements.
This authorization applies to the specified device and its intended use, rather than the complete Feline Health Scan as a single FDA-approved screening service.
Neko describes the U.S. clinic as a preventative health and wellness provider rather than a full-service medical practice. Its privacy notice advises customers to continue seeing their existing clinicians for diagnosis and treatment, including for symptoms identified by the Neko scan.
The company said specialized clinicians, including dermatologists and cardiologists, will review any findings that require further testing. Includes follow-up appointments, referrals, and referrals to outside specialists if recommended by your feline clinician.
Feline’s U.S. clinics do not currently accept health insurance plans, and most of their services are not covered by payers, the company said. Therefore, the customer must pay directly for the initial evaluation.
The company does not disclose how much customers pay for diagnostic tests and treatments provided by outside healthcare providers. It has not announced its price in the U.S. or whether employers, insurance companies or other organizations will subsidize access to the service.
Questions about clinical evidence
The published information reviewed in this article does not include completed peer-reviewed studies validating complete screening services. The study, registered on ClinicalTrials.gov, evaluates the suitability of Neko’s multimodal skin imaging technology for screening and diagnostic support applications, including skin cancer and Raynaud’s phenomenon.
This study is an ongoing evaluation and does not establish the clinical performance of a complete cat health scan.
Neko’s public documents reviewed for this article did not say how often its scans yielded false-positive findings, how many customers underwent additional procedures, or how many flagged abnormalities were later deemed clinically unimportant.
The company’s U.S. privacy notice reveals that an AI dictation system is used to summarize medical records, surveys, scan data, clinical conversations and draft reports. Neko said clinicians will review reports generated using the system.
Public information does not provide a complete breakdown of which scan measurements and classifications rely on AI, traditional software, or direct clinical assessment. There is also no mention that AI independently diagnoses the symptoms covered by the service.
FDA clearance of an individual device does not establish the performance of all algorithms used to combine or interpret the resulting data. The public materials reviewed for this article do not include detailed numbers on the actual performance of each AI system used in the review process.
The health outcome data reported by Neko is based on 1,469 customers who completed a second scan approximately one year after their first scan. The group recorded improvements in blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels, and their weight remained largely stable, the company said.
The scans in the analysis were performed at a feline clinic in Stockholm. The company categorized the results into general groups, health groups, and groups targeting customers with hypertension, prediabetes, or diabetes.
Neko said the analysis was not a scientific study and did not include a control group. This number does not prove that the scan caused the reported improvement, as the customer may have started treatment or changed their behavior between appointments.
This analysis included only customers who had made a personal purchase and had their second scan repeated. Neko did not release demographic information showing how the group compares to its broader customer base or the general population.
The company did not disclose its valuation after the latest round. The Financial Times, citing anonymous sources, reported that Neko is now worth about $7 billion.
