Today, the Gemini app is launching a new image editing model from Google DeepMind. People have already done bananas in early previews – it is the world’s top-rated image editing model. Now we look forward to being able to share that it is integrated into the Gemini app.
Maintains appearance when editing
I started native image editing with the Gemini app earlier this year, but I’ve been working hard to improve it, particularly with a focus on keeping character portraits from one image to the next. When editing photos of yourself and others you know, you know that subtle flaws are important. I don’t feel that the description “close but not exactly the same” is correct. So, our latest updates are designed to make your friends, family and your pets look like you are, whether you’re trying out a beehive haircut from the 60s or tutu on a Chihuahua.
Give Gemini a photo you will work with and tell them what you want to change to add your unique touch. In Gemini, you can combine photos and put them in your photos with your pet, change the background of your room to preview new wallpapers, or place them anywhere in the world you can imagine. Once done, you can also return the edited image to Gemini and turn your new photo into a fun video.
Bring your vision back to life with advanced editing
There are a few things you should try as you explore this new image editing feature.
Give yourself a change of costume and location: Upload photos of people and pets. The model remains the same in every image, just as it would when placing it in a new scenario. Try putting yourself in a variety of outfits and occupations. Or, see how you will appear in another decade while you look even more like you.
