Accept future opportunities responsibly
We believe that the promise of AI in education can only be achieved by developing AI responsibly. One of the key aspects of this is that we do this in close collaboration with the entire education ecosystem. When my team and I met C2k’s Interim Director Damian Harvey, he emphasized this point. He shared that the success of the pilot was accelerated by a collaborative group of teachers sharing their learnings with each other, and the need for resources to train and support further development of AI readiness.
“I think educators need to take advantage of this opportunity,” said C2k Interim Director Damian Harvey.
Following the success of the pilot, C2k plans to roll out Gemini training to more teachers across Northern Ireland. We believe this is just the beginning. We hope to continue to explore partnerships like this, learning directly from teachers who use this technology how to best align our products with proven teaching principles and how to effectively integrate technology to improve student learning outcomes.
As we move toward AI in learning, it’s important that our products empower educators, rather than replace them. Teachers need to maintain ownership of how AI is used to support student learning. As I often say, technology isn’t magic, but teachers are too.
