Korean telecommunications giant KT makes major personnel changes with focus on AI and media businesses

South Korea’s leading telecommunications company KT announced on Friday that it has carried out major personnel changes aimed at strengthening its artificial intelligence (AI) and media business capabilities.

Aiming to grow as an AICT (Artificial Intelligence and Information and Communications) company, the company has decided to integrate its enterprise division, which handles B2B businesses such as cloud and platforms, and its strategic division, which handles AI. Earlier this year, KT announced its vision to transform from a traditional mobile carrier to an AICT company that combines telecom expertise and AI technology.

Additionally, KT will establish a new media division to strengthen its content business.

The expanded strategic consulting department will be responsible for discovering new AI transformation projects and implementing collaborative projects with Microsoft.

KT has been working with the US tech giant for five years to jointly advance AI technology, including developing new AI models tailored to Korean language and culture and new cloud services to meet the needs of Korean business customers. has entered into an AI partnership.
