Will AI replace your job? Which occupations are most at risk?

Recent research on artificial intelligence highlighted which jobs are at risk of replacing AI in the near future.

Pennsylvania legislators are planning to introduce legislation regulating the use of AI in healthcare. The bill requires insurers, hospitals and clinicians to prove that they have integrated the role of AI, to ensure human surveillance of medical decision-making, transparency in the use of AI, minimise bias, and mandate insurance companies, hospitals and clinicians to prove that they have integrated the role of AI. Decided.

Four House Democrats and one Republican from Pennsylvania propose rules that regulate the use of artificial intelligence in health care, worrying that excessive reliance on rapidly growing technologies could lead to bias and discrimination in decision-making without transparency or human oversight.

Arvind Venkat, Tarik Khan, Greg Scott, Bridget M. Kosierowski, all Democrats and Republicans, Rep. Joe Hogan, announced their intention to introduce legislation to ensure all Pennsylvanians, especially patients.

Venkat, the only physician at the General Assembly, representing parts of Allegheny County, witnessed the rapid growth of AI in healthcare, saying in a statement the law aims to “believe Pennsylvanians that AI is responsible and used effectively.”

“We’ve already seen evidence that AI use can enhance bias and discrimination,” Venkat said. “This will ensure that insurance companies, clinicians and hospitals can use AI effectively and not use it to perpetuate potentially harmful biases in the healthcare sector.”

Major AI Investments

According to a May report by Grand View Research, AI in the healthcare market is expected to become a $188 billion industry worldwide by 2030.

“A clinical decision support system supported by artificial intelligence enhances predictive, real-time analytics for physicians and health professionals, improving quality of decision-making and care, and ultimately improving patient outcomes,” the report states. “In addition, AI is promoting a comprehensive understanding of disease biology and patient pathology, and is advancing precision medicine and precision public health initiatives.”

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pennsylvania’s second largest hospital system, is using Microsoft’s Dax Copilot to document information patients and physicians provide during their exams, as reported earlier this year by Erie Times-News, for example. AI assistants help doctors save time entering information into patients’ medical charts. It is one of the major causes of doctors’ burnout.

However, it has also been used to monitor heart signals, detect heart attacks, extract relevant information from large data sets, and pair patients with clinical trials, for example.

“AI certainly has the ability to enhance every aspect of human life, including the medical field, but it should not be replaced by the expertise and judgment of medical clinicians,” Scott of Montgomery County said in a statement. “I embrace technology and use it every day, but as an EMT I know firsthand that to understand a person’s medical history and needs, computer algorithms cannot fully evaluate.

What the AI Healthcare bill does

According to a bipartisan group of lawmakers, future laws will be

When insurance companies, hospitals, or clinicians use AI to prevent excessive reliance on technology, they require humans to make the ultimate decision based on individual assessments. It requires insurance companies, hospitals and clinicians to be transparent about how AI is used. AndRequire insurers provide certification to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, requiring hospitals and clinicians to prove that discrimination and discrimination in AI use is minimal. They also need to provide evidence of how the decision was made.

“AI is a big part of our daily lives, so we have to make sure it’s not overly dependent on our healthcare system,” said Hogan, a Bucks County Republican. “This law will ensure that there is still a human element in determining life and death decisions.”

Khan of Philadelphia said the unfair denial from the insurers that used it to make such decisions using AI was “outrageous” and that the bill would “take care of patients.”

Kosielowski of Lackawanna County has worked as a nurse for almost 30 years, but said that the introduction of AI will make it even more important that there are experienced and nurses who are sure to be accurate and not make decisions about bias or discrimination.

“The bill would provide the guardrails needed to protect patients and ensure AI is responsible and effectively used in the federal healthcare industry,” she said.

Several states have passed laws requiring healthcare providers and insurance companies to disclose that AI is being used to make specific decisions about patient care and when it is being used based on the circumstances that humans need to make final decisions. For example, Utah requires businesses to disclose when people are interacting with AI chatbots, and lawmakers are moving to protect people interacting with AI chatbots for mental health services. Also, Colorado law allows patients to sue healthcare decisions when AI is used.
