Royal Phillips (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) and popular general Brigham (Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA) have formed a strategic partnership to develop and implement advanced data infrastructure and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. This collaboration is designed to integrate and process live healthcare data from a wide range of sources with the aim of enhancing patient care.

In the current healthcare situation, providers often rely on a combination of disconnected data sources, such as static electronic medical records (EMRs), clinical notes, and isolated device alarms. The joint initiative between Phillips and the popular general Brigham is trying to address this by streaming accurate, reliable, detailed data from a variety of medical devices and other inputs. This creates a scalable, unified ecosystem for near-real-time data and insights. By leveraging Philips’ software platform, the collaboration aims to enable clinicians to capture, analyze, and act on data that is made available. The combined efforts utilize Philips technology to integrate active data streaming from bedside medical devices such as ventilators and monitors, and to combine other long-term clinical data, such as lab results and EMR information. and develop a comprehensive and practical data environment. The Philips Capsule Medical Device Information Platform integrates data from a wide range of devices, the Philips Clinical Insights Manager facilitates retroactive analysis, and the Philips Capsule Surveillance employs ongoing algorithmic processing to help smarter live clinical use Generates an alert.

For this collaboration, Mass General Brigham contributes to the expertise of the biomedical engineering team, clinical subspecialists, digital team, and its internal AI business unit, Mass General Brigham AI, working with the Phillips research and business team. I’m doing it. Together, they aim to develop new algorithms that can enhance data integration, provide meaningful data insights, identify patient cohort patterns, and generate intelligent alerts for timely clinical interventions. Masu. These alerts provide clinicians with actionable insights at key moments and help improve patient outcomes. The collaboration’s first research program will focus on patients undergoing continuous, real-time cardiac monitoring. By analyzing this data, this study aims to improve early detection of cardiac events and other significant health issues.

“The collaboration between Phillips and the popular general Brigham represents a significant advance in the integration of advanced data analytics into clinical practice,” says Bessabe Madani Herman, Global Research Director at Phillips. . “We empower clinicians and support better care for more people by developing predictive data analytics and AI algorithms, as well as key tools to enhance patient care.”

“This exciting collaboration takes an important step in healthcare innovation, leveraging the most of AI and medical device data, encouraging patient safety, operational efficiency and clinician ergonomics. It opens up new possibilities for discoveries,” added Dr. Tom McCoy. Biomedical Engineering at Massachusetts General Hospital. The transformational potential of software for patients most needed. ”
