Combining Floodlight Security Camera Technology with AI technology, the new Reolink Floodlight Elite WiFi aims to make searching for videos easier.
Most smart home security systems will send notifications when something happens, but you will find it more tricky to sort a large number of notifications to find a particular footage. Sometimes, events captured by the camera can slip through the cracks completely.
Reolink’s solution is to let the AI lift heavily. Instead of manually sorting recordings, the Floodlight Elite WiFi camera allows you to search for specific phrases and find clips in your video.
For example, searching for a specific color for a person wearing a particular clothing item or a car will give you the best results for your query. It works locally in beta format without subscription or cloud connections using Reolink’s “Reoneura” AI technology.
Other smart security brands have launched similar features, such as Ring’s smart video search. However, a take on Ring’s technology requires a Ring Home Premium subscription that costs $29.95 per month.
Don’t forget the hardware connected to the AI feature. The Leolink Floodlight Elite WiFi takes the form of a dual-lens 4K camera. Due to the two-lens design, it has a wide field of view of 180 degrees, but the floodlight of the same name reaches 3,000 lumens of brightness.
Reolink’s floodlights also have several different settings for toys. “Shape Lighting” allows you to manually set the brightness and timing, while “Down to Dawn” automates operations based on ambient lighting. There is also a “Motion Trigger” setting that activates the camera’s floodlight and siren when it detects movement from people, cars or animals.
However, a hard wired connection is required for power. This is the main thing to consider before installing at home.
In Australia, the Reolink Floodlight Elite WiFi is currently on sale, costing $299 from the Reolink website and Amazon.
