Palo Alto, California – (Business Wire) – Rubrik, a leading cybersecurity company, today announced that it is integrating AMD EPYC™ processors across Rubrik’s data security platform. Using AMD EPYC processors, Rubrik can provide enterprise customers with cost-effective, power-efficient, AI Ready solutions while expanding deployment options in a cloud environment.
Shift in Enterprise Computing
This strategic expansion reflects wider market changes in enterprise computing. As organizations move from on-premises to cloud environments and increase their appetite for AI-powered solutions, organizations are increasingly embracing AMD technology for mission-critical workloads, especially among financial services leaders and other security-subject organizations. According to Rubrik’s recent 2025 Data Security Report, 90% of IT leaders say they manage distributed hybrid environments.
“The migration from on-premises to hybrid on-premises and cloud environments is one of the most important events in the history of business computing,” said Arvind Nithrakashyap, co-founder and CTO of Rubrik. “Looking towards the future, we plan to lead AMD technology in the upcoming product generation, meeting the clear benefits of market demand and performance efficiency.”
Lower TCO without compromise
To meet the increased customer demand for reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) without compromise on performance or security, Rubrik is based on a relationship that began with the E1000 appliance in 2018, with almost 50% of the cloud-native protection currently running on AMD instances on AWS, Azure and GCP continually adding.
Rubrik currently plans to significantly increase AMD EPYC processor availability across the third-party hardware ecosystem, with solutions currently available on Dell and HPE platforms, with Cisco-based solutions launching in the coming quarter.
Rubrik has two cloud products: Cloud Native Protection and Rubrik Cloud Cluster. Today, around 50% of cloud-native protection runs on AMD instances on AWS, Azure and GCP. Rubrik is adding support for AMD instances to Rubrik Cloud Cluster for AWS, Azure, GCP and OCI by the end of July.
“Our customers are increasingly demanding AMD power solutions to optimize both capital expenditures and long-term operating costs,” says Nithrakashyap. “By expanding our AMD offering, we are providing a commitment to customer choice while addressing key data center cost-effectiveness and sustainability requirements.”
“AMD EPYC processors offer state-of-the-art energy-efficient and excellent performance, helping companies like Rubrik meet customer data security needs while reducing environmental impact. “We are proud to see Rubrik expanding the use of AMD EPYC processors and bringing these benefits to more customers.”
The main benefits for customers include:
Reduced TCO: Up to 5-10% savings on initial capital expenditures. Significant ongoing operational cost reductions through enhanced cloud deployment options with low power consumption: Increased hardware availability across geographical regions, enabling faster, more resilient cloud deployments. Features are the first choice for all servers and cloud instances.
