Google and the Billion Follower Summit will present $1 million (approximately £740,000/$1.5 million) awards at the new Global Film Production Competition, but the competition is open only to submissions generated by Google’s AI. The 1B AI Film Awards by Google Gemini are global contests inviting AI creators to submit short films on one of two themes.
Google and the Billion Follower Summit say the new 1B AI Film Award is the largest and most valuable award in the world. One winner of the World Championship will receive a $1 million award at the Content Creator Expo, the Billion Follower Summit, which is taking place in Dubai on January 9, 2026.
Contest rules require creators to use Google’s AI tools to generate films that range from 7 to 10 minutes long, such as Google Veo 3 or Flow. Google says, “70% of your content must be generated using Google AI tools and models.
“This means you can use Google Gemini or other Google AI models and tools for core video generation. You can use other software and tools for supplemental editing, but do not use it for the primary creation of video content.”

The film can be on one of two themes. Regarding “Rewrite of Tomorrow,” AI creators are asked to create a film with “optimistic and inspirational views of the future.” The “Secret Life of” category invites submissions to AI-generated videos that share touching and untold stories.
This competition is open to AI creators all over the world, and films can be in any language, but they require English subtitles.
Submissions to the contest are open until November 20th. The contest organizers show that the judgement will be conducted “by a ju-degree judge of global experts in high-tech and filmmaking.”
The 1B AI Film Award is a new competition, taking part in a relatively new exposition, with the first billion follower summit coming in January 2024.
The judges will select a top 10 candidate list in December, and then a public vote will be held between these 10 entries. The top five will premiere at the Billion Follower Summit, with the winners announced on the final day of the summit on January 11th, 2026.
