Society for Integrated Development & Research (SIDAR) and Dr. Lankapalli Bulllayya College of Visakhapatnam will be debating on the university grounds on Saturday at Union Budget 2025-26. The meeting was held.
This program is A. Prasannakumar (former president of Andhra University), V. Baramohandas (former vice-prime minister of Acharyanagarujuna University), R. Sudar Sanarao (former vice president of Vikramashimapuri University), and D. Harinarayana (former Pro-vice-chancellor of Gitam, considered a university).
Sidar President KC Reddy was coordinated by G. Madhu Kumar, secretary and correspondent at Bulllayya College, to host the program.
The speaker focuses on aspects such as the impact of income tax, economic growth, education, foreign trade, federal finances, commerce, industry, and infrastructure investment. The panel also examined the future challenges posed by artificial intelligence and the need for skill development.
Professor KC Reddy said that increasing the income tax cap is expected to increase consumption and investment due to economic growth. However, this depends on the marginal trend of consumption, where translation into necessary investments is about 0.5% suspicious. He said the budget is positive in financial integration, nurturing women entrepreneurs and establishing AI research centres. He said the federal government has made a dramatic change in budget goals. It currently focuses on policies and targets like Viksit Bharat 2047, unlike past revenue and spending.
Professor V. Balamohandas spoke about income tax exemptions and how it can benefit consumption.
Professor R Sudarshana Rao noted that while Madhu Kumar highlighted the impact on industry and skills, the income tax benefits given to middle classes within the budget can be recovered through better compliance. He highlighted the sources of income, spending and financial integration.
Professor D. Harinarayana has published highlights related to the foreign trade and effectiveness of the “Trump” policy, as well as budget allocations for education and healthcare.
Professor S. Ramakrishnarao spoke about the need for a Climate Resilience Fund to maintain the environment. He further noted that the budget lacks a comprehensive approach to environmental resilience and there is an inadequate allocation to initiatives to mitigate climate change.
Himakartata, a retired employee of Indian Railway Transport Services, is targeting transportation and infrastructure issues.
Apart from faculty, students participated in raising questions about budgets and their impact on employment, education and industry.
