The panelists are working on the dual impact of AI on journalism, raising concerns about increased efficiency and innovation and the decline in disinformation, algorithm bias, and public trust. The conversations responsibly navigated these challenges, emphasizing ethical standards, transparency and the need for ongoing education.
As a next step, John Schreus proposed to focus on AI journalism and ethics based on the IFJ Code of Ethics
The IFJ has published recommendations on the use of AI, which argued that AI should replace journalism and seek human surveillance, fairness compensation, and union-led negotiations to negotiate with high-tech companies.
