IT and networking company Cisco has introduced Cisco AI Defense, a pioneering solution designed to protect AI transformation within the enterprise.

As AI technology advances at an exponential pace, the security risks associated with its deployment are evolving just as quickly. Existing cybersecurity measures are effective against traditional threats, but are unprepared for the complexity of AI, leaving businesses vulnerable to potential attacks. . Cisco AI Defense aims to address this gap and provide organizations with a secure way to deploy AI while mitigating new risks.

According to Cisco’s 2024 AI Readiness Index, only 35% of respondents in the Philippines feel well-equipped to detect and prevent AI tampering. AI applications are often multi-cloud and multi-model, making them vulnerable to a variety of risks, from data leaks to malicious attacks. These challenges grow as companies use their own sensitive data to train AI systems

To enable innovation and adoption of AI, enterprises need a common layer of safety and security that protects all users and all applications. AI Defense enables enterprise AI transformation by addressing two pressing risks.

First, it will enhance the development and deployment of secure AI applications. As AI becomes more pervasive, organizations will rely on numerous AI applications. AI Defense provides a consistent set of security measures across all applications, allowing developers to innovate quickly while ensuring their AI systems are secure and reliable. This includes features such as identifying rogue AI developments, validating models against potential risks, and continuously monitoring for threats at runtime.

Second, AI Defense protects end users’ access to AI applications. As employees increasingly rely on AI tools such as summarization tools, the risk of data breaches and security vulnerabilities increases. AI Defense addresses this issue by providing visibility into all AI applications used within an organization, enabling controlled access to approved tools, and continuous protection from data loss and other threats. Masu.

Cisco AI Defense seamlessly integrates into Cisco Security Cloud, Cisco’s unified, AI-driven, cross-domain security platform. This provides consistent protection across multiple AI platforms. Adapt to new threats using Cisco machine learning models and Cisco Talos threat intelligence.

AI Defense is the latest in Cisco’s series of AI-driven security innovations, including Cisco Hypershield. Cisco AI Defense will be available in March to help enterprises secure their AI transformations.
