AI is restructuring its overall technology workforce, including Amazon.
Cloud and tech giant and Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said the technology will inevitably spell out job cuts and drive increased recruitment in areas like Robotics and AI.
In a June memo, Jassy encouraged staff to “experiment with AI whenever possible.” Staff from certain Amazon subsidiaries need to show how they use AI when applying for promotions, Business Insider previously reported.
At the same time, Amazon is hiring large AI, according to data from AI’s job search platform Jobright. According to the report, it advertises three times more AI jobs than Meta, Google and Microsoft.
Amazon’s AI Embrace is consistent with Jassy’s ongoing push to build an increasingly efficient, startup-like workforce. This was revamped to return to the office, flatten the management layer, refine the paid model, and reward high performers.
Recently, the e-commerce giant has rolled out a more stringent performance review process with culture as a key indicator.

At Amazon.com, data scientists and financial analysts can make $230,900 and $204,028 respectively, while technical product managers can also take home $235,200.
An Amazon spokesperson told BI that the compensation package is based on roles and levels and is informed by location, performance and other factors.
The spokesman said the rewards are intended to attract and motivate the best talent, and the company regularly reviews the packages to ensure competitiveness.
This is what Amazon pays beyond the important roles that Amazon employs most frequently from overseas, based on its first quarter 2025 application.
