Bobyard, an AI platform, announced Bobyard 2.0. This is the latest platform update that delivers accelerated take-off workflows and an integrated AI workbench designed to keep pace with daily estimators (those responsible for calculating project budgets) across the construction and landscaping industry.
By speeding up take-off operations, a critical part of project estimating that analyzes the details of materials and quantities required for construction work, contractors can reduce the risk of errors that can occur with manual measurements. Ultimately, faster take-off can reduce costly surprises during the construction process.
Features of Bobiard 2.0
Bobyard 2.0 is designed to integrate materials and their costs using a “measure first, price later” model to save time and reduce errors from inception to final bid.
With the new multi-measure feature, estimators can draw once and no longer need to create separate lines or shapes to calculate area, perimeter, or total volume. The system generates all relevant measurements simultaneously, reducing the need for measurements.
Bobyard also connected its AI tools to the AI Workbench. The workbench now includes a review workflow option that allows estimators to review and decide whether to trust or adjust certain AI outputs before adding them to takeoff.
Another updated feature that provides flexibility is Legend Manager, which provides users with a “dedicated space to create and run symbol and pattern legends.” Text Count allows users to convert words and labels in drawings into count measurements.
According to Bobyard, “Once takeoff is complete, you don’t have to rebuild anything to get the final quote.” Additionally, importing pricing and assemblies into the quote table in Bobyard 2.0 is “simpler and more streamlined,” allowing users to “move from takeoff to production-ready quotes without having to export anything to Excel or redo anything just to see it in the quote context.” In other words, it’s a big update for estimators.
Improved navigation improves ease of use with cross-page search introduced as a feature, eliminating the need to leave the platform or switching tools, streamlining the overall workflow from initiation to final ready-to-use quote.
Last year, Bobiard raised $35 million in Series A funding led by 8VC, which includes Pear VC and Caffeinated Capital.
The company says its platform currently automates up to 70% of quantity and material removal processes, and contractors using Bobyard report an average reduction in removal time of 65%. Estimators are reportedly submitting three to five times as many bids, increasing profit margins and winning rates, and enjoying more accurate results. “Every change we’ve made has been driven by our customers’ desire to move faster, maintain control, and spend less time doing the work that software should be doing for them. This is our answer to that, and it’s just the beginning,” said Michael Ding, founder and CEO of Bobyard.
“AI tools are on another level,” said Marty Grunder, founder of The Grow Group and Grunder Landscaping. “We’re talking about cutting actual job takeoff time in half. If you’re looking to up the bar on estimating this season, there’s nothing else on the market that can match this. Period.”
Bobyard 2.0 will be available to landscape contractors on April 8th and will be available for additional construction transactions in late April.
