Investing in core AI technology and product innovation, dashverse drives the next wave of AI-generated mobile-first storytelling
Dashverse, a full-stack AI entertainment company that develops a platform for mobile-first entertainment, announced today that it has shut down its $13 million Series A funding, making it the largest Series A round in the sector. The round was led by Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia Capital India & Sea), with participation from Returning Investors Z47 (formerly Matrix Partners India) and Stellaris Venture Partners.
This funding milestone was born as a dash reel, with the newly launched Microdrama app achieving rapid growth, exceeding 5 million downloads within a month of launch.
Viewers’ demand for mobile native episode content like microdramas is exploding globally, creating great opportunities for storytelling in this new form of entertainment. However, generating this content at scale is a critical bottleneck and requires complex tools and studio-level resources. Dashverse is taking this challenge head on.
Dashverse was the first to prove its model with Dashtoon, a popular AI-powered platform for creating and distributing digital comics. Based on its success, the company has adopted an integrated video approach, allowing Frameo.AI to use AI to generate high-quality serialized content, and uses dash reels that distribute these mobile-first microdramas to global audiences. Together, the ecosystem has driven the dashverse to over 20 million users around the world and established it as the forefront of AI-Native Entertainment.
Sanidhya Narain, co-founder and CEO of Dashverse, said: “Just like camera phones have turned everyone into creators and unlocked platforms like Instagram and Tiktok, the generator AI does the same for storytelling, but it does the same in a much more powerful form.
