Kansas

S 243 and S 264 are separate AI disclosure bills that require consumer notification about software or computer programs that simulate human conversation or chatter through text or voice interaction.

S 301 creates the Massachusetts Information Privacy and Security Act. (Senator Feingold.)
H 666 requires public schools to have a policy regarding the use of personal electronic devices on campus and during school activities. (Representatives Peish and Ripper Garabedian)
michigan
Michigan has two AI bills in place.
HB 4667 is an AI crime bill introduced in 2025 by Rep. Sarah Lightner (R) and carried into the 2026 session.
SB 760, introduced by Sen. Dana Polehanke (D) in late December, is a child chatbot safety bill. The bill would prohibit chatbot operators from offering products to minors unless the minors could encourage self-harm, suicidal thoughts, violence, drug or alcohol use, or eating disorders. Chatbots may not provide mental health therapy to minors without the direct supervision of a licensed or qualified professional. Additionally, eligible minors cannot be discouraged from seeking help from qualified professionals or their parents or guardians. The bill includes a number of other prohibited acts, actions, and activities.
