Key technology experts have urged business leaders to embrace agent AI and outlined the biggest myths surrounding technology.
Agent AI technology goes far beyond simple automation as defined as AI that can set goals, plan tasks, and autonomously execute complex actions.
It has already reshaping the way businesses operate, unlike systems that require constant prompts, Agent AI adapts in real time and drives meaningful results.
Commenting on the importance of business expert James Disney May, the company said, “Enterprise leaders are no longer exploring. They are doing it. Up to 90% of IT leaders say the process that benefits agent AI is planning to invest in 2025.
But nonetheless, the myth continues.
As James points out, these misconceptions often hinder business.
Here, business expert James breaks down five most common myths and explains why leaders should act now.
Myth 1: Agent AI is the latest buzzword
Not just hype, this is a structural change in capabilities.
“Agent AI is not a rebrand. It’s a reconfiguration. These systems don’t wait for instructions. They act. Imagine a logistics AI agent who acts and issues customer notifications, refunds entirely autonomously. “Agent AI acts with intent.”
Myth 2: Agent AI is too risky to trust
Governance and control are built into the beginning.
“The fear of fraudulent AI is rooted in fiction rather than fact. In reality, agent AI operates within clear boundaries. Often, it has embedded safeguards such as human checks in loops and real-time audit trails. Autonomy doesn’t mean disorder. These systems act like the most trained teams. And there’s a lot of interest. 93% of IT leaders say they’re keen to explore agent AI.”
Myth 3: Agent AI is for technical use cases only
Its most powerful use cases are often outside of it.
“Agent AI is no longer confined to development teams and data labs. Its most valuable applications are emerging across marketing, HR, compliance and customer service. The areas in which agents streamline workflows, surface insights, and bottlenecks. For example, UNILEVER, AI uses AI to recruit and train candidates to train candidates and interview candidates who interview candidates, not just backend systems, but also boardrooms.
Myth 4: Agent AI replaces the entire team
It’s about enhancement, not exchange.
“The fear of agent AI getting jobs is one of the biggest blockers to hire, but it’s also one of the oldest. These systems are designed to pick up repeatable, manager-heavy processes rather than side jobs. Think of them as digital coworkers when it comes to invoices and compliance tracking.
Myth 5: Agent AI is only for high-tech giants
Small and medium-sized businesses are already using these tools.
“Thanks to the no-code platform and open source tools, agent systems are now accessible. In fact, more than half of the world’s organizations have expanded their use in 2025, including many other than the technology elite. Unless your leader is practical, you don’t have to automate everything overnight.
It’s not a question of whether Agent AI will shape your sector, it’s not a question of being ready to lead change.
