He says he wants a new, enforceable contract that forces employers to consult with staff before they are introduced into the workplace.
“The last thing the industry needs is to be plagued by the inconsistent patchwork of state and federal laws that this bill creates,” Waldron said.
“This bill regulates a variety of issues best addressed through our comprehensive and carefully developed National Workplace Relations Act, and these changes will have a major impact both now and in the future.
Despite the allegations that the Australian Business Council was notified and agreed to the terms, the changes are understood to have been included in a broader revision of employee compensation but were not directly referenced.
BCA CEO Bran Black said the recent proposals have not been discussed and will not support them due to the increased powers given to the union.
