On Wednesday, the virtual astronaut glowed on the screen of Naver’s Vision Stage. This is the heart of Tech Giant’s cutting-edge content production studio located within Seongnam headquarters at Naver 1784 in Gyeonggi.
“Please say hello to everyone here,” Oh Han-Gi, head of Naver’s Real-Time Engine Studio team, urged the stage to take responsibility. The astronauts formed by waving a small heart gesture that became a K-POP signature, controlled in real time by NAVER employees wearing a motion capture sensor next to the motion stage.
This little moment – part theatre, some technical demonstrations – has marked greater ambitions. As the company revealed on the same day at Tech Forum, an immersive media platform, Naver is racing to transform the way content is created, shared and consumed, and arm its massive creator base with generative AI tools.
“We use the studio for each session application for Chzzk streamers (Naver’s streaming platform). The number of applicants for the second session was 10 times the first session,” Oh said.

In late 2025, NAVER will deploy a platform that understands video context and generates detailed timelines and personalized recommendations, as well as AutoClipai, which converts text-based content such as blogs and shopping reviews into videos. The goal is to make video creation and management more accessible to content creators.
“We’re committed to working with Naver’s Immersive Media Platforms team,” said Kim Sung-Ho.
Naver also highlighted the technology behind Prism Live Studio, a live streaming app launched in 2019. The app allows stable 3D avatar-based live streaming on mobile devices and features AI scripting capabilities that convert live speeches to text. This platform shows an average of 130,000 live streams created each day.
Global tech giants, including Google, Meta and Apple, are increasingly focusing on augmented reality (XR) devices such as smart glasses and headsets as their next smartphone platform. At the I/O Developer Conference in May, Google teamed up with Samsung Electronics and Gentle Monster to unveil prototypes of the XR headset and smart glasses that are currently in development.
Oh Han-Gi, who leads Naver’s real-time engine studio team, will speak on July 16th at Vision Stage, Naver’s studio specializing in Naver’s studio, located within Naver 1784, the headquarters of the Korean Internet portal Giant in Seongnam, Gyeonggi.
Naver’s efforts to enhance media AI capabilities and enhance the content creator ecosystem are tailored to this broad trend. The company announced plans to launch an Android XR-based content platform later this year, confirming its participation in Project Moohan, a leading XR device initiative by Samsung and Google.
While Big Tech focuses on hardware development, Naver is investing in content production for these new platforms. By introducing AI tools that simplify content creation and management, the company aims to reduce barriers to entry for creators.
“If we continue to build media AI technology and support the user experience, we will be able to seamlessly transfer the experience when XR reaches mainstream,” Oh says.
