According to a new report from The Verge, Openai is building its own X-Sama social media network. Although this project is still in its early stages, there is an internal prototype focusing on image generation for ChatGpt, including social feeds.
The report states that it is unclear whether Openai plans to launch a social network as a standalone app or integrate it into the ChatGPT app.
With this new social network, Openai will take on Facebook and Instagram, the social platforms of Elon Musk’s X and Meta. Additionally, the new app allows OpenAI to access real-time data and train AI models. This is something both X and META already have.
Openai CEO Sam Altman reportedly wants outsiders to personally ask for feedback on social networks.
At this point it is not clear whether the project will be published or not, but the existence of the prototype indicates that Openai is about to expand beyond its current offering.
