Claude wants to increase productivity with new research tools and seamless Google Workspace integration. Here’s how to try this:

Anthropic’s Claude has earned a major upgrade that could completely change the way you work. AI Assistant has evolved into a true collaborator with new deep integration into Google Workspace and powerful AI research capabilities to make information gathering more efficient.

These updates are currently being deployed for paid users, and we aim to automate the most time-consuming parts of the day. We talk about everything from meeting prep and Inbox triage to gathering information.

But are they worth the monthly subscription cost? This is a breakdown of features that will help you decide.

Claude connects directly to Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Docs. This means you can scan emails for information, summarize documents, identify upcoming meetings, and view the files you need.

Well, if you need to know what’s on this week’s calendar and which documents you need to call, all you need to do is ask Claude.

Here are some prompts I have tried, and I can already see the benefits of this new integration.

You might like it

“What is my important meeting this week? And which documents should I look at?”

“I’ll summarize the action items from last week’s email.”

“Find (the name of the doc) and add it to (the new folder).”

Whether you’re preparing for a meeting or want to combine information from two documents, Claude can help and coordinate support.

Research Mode

Claude’s new research mode is proposed to be your full-time research assistant. The same Web-Search feature humanity-powered research assistant, launched earlier this year, performs multi-step searches, draws from internal and external sources, providing comprehensive citation-backed insights.

This feature is currently in beta and is only available to Max, teams and enterprise users, so the rest will have to wait to give it a try.

The key difference between Claude and Gemini

Claude vs Gemini

If you’re having a head off, is Gemini already doing all this for me? you’re right. Gemini, Google’s own AI, is already integrated into Google Workspace. This is an important difference that will help you decide which AI assistant is right for you.

Depth of Integration: Gemini is natively integrated into Google Workspace, providing seamless AI assistance across a variety of apps. In contrast, Claude integration is currently in beta and may require additional setup. Features Focus: Claude highlights research capabilities and document analysis, while Gemini offers a wider range of features, including audio summary, real-time dialogue, and customization.

While both Claude and Gemini increase productivity within Google Workspace, Gemini offers a more comprehensive and deeply integrated suite of AI tools, Claude focuses on research and document-centric features that are suitable for users seeking these specific features.

Simply put, Gemini is probably everything you need.

availability

Claude’s Google Workspace Integration is available in beta versions of all paid plans. Administrators must enable access to teams and enterprise users.

Research mode is available in the initial beta versions of Max, Team and Enterprise Tier in the US, Japan and Brazil.

If you try, paid users can toggle surveys in Settings, and once enabled by your organization, you can connect workspace access through profile settings.

Final Thoughts

A professional personification subscription costs $17 per month with a discount when paid annually. Max Subscription – What you need for a new research tool is $100 per month.

The Gemini Advanced subscription costs $20 per month. However, most of the best Gemini features are available for free, such as integrations within Google Workspace.

Digging emails, calendars and files manually can instantly feel “old-fashioned.” With AI assistants like Claude becoming more integrated and more proactive, the era of chasing information may finally be over.

These upgrades position Claude as a serious contender for the AI-for productivity space, heading straight for Google’s own Gemini from Microsoft Copilot and Workspace.
