Small and medium-sized enterprises in the West see great potential in leveraging AI in their businesses, but lack the training, expertise, and funding channels to implement AI.
This is according to a report published this week by Regional Skills West, which says AI has the potential to boost the productivity and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in Mayo, Roscommon and Galway.
Some of the report’s recommendations include coordinated AI skills improvement pathways, shared regional AI knowledge hubs, and deeper collaboration between small and medium-sized enterprises, higher education, and national enterprise institutions.
Dennis Locks, Regional Skills West Manager, said the report “captures what employers are telling us on the ground every day. Clear and accessible support will unlock real opportunities for local businesses.”
